Hey, all windows 10 box followers, this is the first lesson on my windows 10 tutorial. In this lesson, I will talk about installing a fresh copy of windows 10 and adjust your settings for first use.
By the way, if you upgraded from a previous version of windows, you settings will be the same as it was on your previous windows, but if want to install a fresh copy of windows 10 this lesson will be helpful for you.

Select Your Language, Country And Time Zone In Windows 10

As I said Above, if you are installing a fresh copy of windows 10, you are going to see the same screen as in the picture. In this screen, you are able to select your language, country, and time zone. Simply go ahead and click on the first list it will be opened and select your country where you live. Then, click on the next list and select your preferred language. After that, click on the third list and select the keyboard language that you would like to use. Finally, choose your time zone and click next.

After adjusting your language settings, the next page you will get is about windows 10 license and agreements, you can read it and when you are ready, click Accept.

Windows 10 Internet Connection

in this page you should connect to Wi-Fi network, it will show to you the available networks to select one of them, but if you already connected through a wire, you will see screen such as in the picture. after that you have to use the express settings or customize settings, I recommend you choose express settings and you can change them anytime later.
Note that, internet connection is very important for windows 10, if you did not connect to the internet, this will limit your options later on.

Windows 10 Is Asking You Who Owns This PC?

After Connecting to the internet and selecting Express settings, in the next page Windows 10 will ask you, who owns this PC? most of you will choose I own it, but if you working in an organization or anywhere you have to choose My organization.
if you are an individual person, so go ahead and choose I own it and click next.

Windows 10 Sign In Account

Next page, Windows 10 will ask you if you want to login in with, online account or local account. An online account allows you to use more features of windows 10. local account means little features.
I recommend you to sign-in with online account, if you already have an account just type username and password then hit sign in, if you don't have one so click create one and fill the information to get new one.
If you want to sign in with a local account, just click skip this step and you will get the next screen.

After setting your account information, in the next screen windows 10 will ask you to set a PIN instead of password, this is an interesting option to use, but if you want to continue using your password, so click skip this step.

  4. Select Chrometana and click add to Chrome
  5. After it added Chrometana page will open and ask you to choose which search engine you want to use, simply select Google.
Now go to Cortana in the taskbar and search for something Google Chrome will open using Google search engine to get the information.

Windows 10 includes a new virtual desktop feature called Task View, it is really useful for someone who running multiple windows or applications, and especially if you often switch between projects and tasks running. Task View is able to get all the related windows and apps running into separated virtual desktops, so if you need to switch from one task to another just click on one of the virtual desktops.
You can find the Task View bottom in the taskbar next to Cortana, just click on it and if you have applications or windows running you will see task view minimized and collected them together. In the right bottom corner you can see the add new desktop option, just click on it and add new desktops, then you can add each related apps and windows into separated desktop, just click on the window, drag and drop it into the new virtual desktop.

Let’s take a look about new feature Snap Assist, it was actually introduced in windows 7. It also took a place in windows 8 and reintroduced in windows 8.1. Now it much improved in windows 10, Snap is a simple window management feature that let you arrange, maximize and minimize open windows, simply by dragging them to the different edges of the screen. It is really useful and awesome when you need to view two windows side by side, just drag one to one side of the screen and click on the other one. Simply to test it do the following …

Microsoft finally decided to replace Internet Explorer with a new browser called Microsoft Edge in Windows 10, Edge is the default browser of windows 10. It uses XML feed to get the news from different networks in it default page. You can find it by going to the start menu and choose all apps, in the right side of start menu you may find it too or by defaults it pinned on the taskbar next to view task button. It is a completely new developed browser for windows 10, it is pretty good and fast for use, but for people who use third-party add-ons I think they need to use another browser until Microsoft allow third-party add-ons in the next updates.

Continuum

Last Windows 10 Feature is called Continuum, in fact, it is active only for touchscreen devices, but you can test it on your desktop, simply go to Action Center and click on Tablet mode, to switch between apps just touch your screen and swap to right or left. Start menu in Continuum looks as it was in windows 8, if you want to go back to desktop mode just go to action center again and deactivate the tablet mode.
